Ben Lountchenko was born in Ukraine. His parents instilled a strong passion and appreciation for music in all of their children from a very young age, encouraging him to play piano. Singing and playing musical instruments came naturally to him, as together with his four siblings they performed in their home and church — singing and playing different instruments — everything from the piano or sopilka (Ukrainian folk flute) to trumpet and accordion to the drums and guitars.
At fourteen, Ben started arranging music and leading a church orchestra and a youth choir. That passion for writing music and performing stayed with him through his life, including service in the army (playing a trumpet and keyboards) and, after moving to the U.S., ministry as a worship pastor and a member of music groups and orchestras.
With the Heart of Music, Ben’s responsibilities include arranging music, playing piano and doing a few other exciting things that make a team stronger, ministry focused on God and life interesting and fulfilling.
