The Heart of Music

Corina Donica

VIOLINIST/educator

From the young age of 7 Corina has been playing music. Right at the start, she participated in joyful family gatherings in the Republic of Moldova; these household jamborees left a permanent imprint on her heart.

With a full scholarship, she earned her Bachelors Degree in Violin Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She then went on to complete her Masters of the same field at the University of North Florida, where she also became a teaching assistant and her passion as an educator first began.

Corina has taught instrumental music at the Elementary through High School level, investing herself in showing future generations the beauty of music through individualized instruction and a solid technical foundation. She continues to teach lessons, hold workshops, and has also founded the Strings Program at the Episcopal School of Jacksonville, FL.

As a professionally trained musician, she has performed across the world as a soloist, chamber musician, and within many orchestral ensembles. Her talent has brought her to perform in famous cities such as Paris, Dresden, New York, Washington DC, and Jerusalem.

Desiring to be faithful to her calling as a Christian Artist Performer, she plays across the US with the Donicas Trio, combining Gospel with Jazz and Traditional Slavic playing styles. This group seeks to showcase the truths of Scripture, while connecting others through song. In whichever ensemble she plays in, Corina bears her soul on the sacred strings of her violin, and you can sense the earnest sincerity in which she plays.
